I think hes got a good point. But look at how long it took for the first people to become literate. Books existed, sure, but not a lot of people read before the printing press. I dont think programming has hit its big moment yet. Theres no printing press, no common language. When that happens though, we will all be screwed. Keyboarding replaced cursive, programming will soon replace foreign language?

Its all funny to think of who the first talkers were, the first bookworms. Nerds. You can only imagine that the first guy who tried to learn to write, and think of things worht writing down in mass quantities in sharing probably wasnt a 14th century frat bro. He was probably a bored, lonely loser, staying up late at night ( like 9 o clock) and writing down his ideas by candlelight. He worked all day as a helping hand at some printing press, just so they would sell him ink and paper at a discount so he could hand-copy a few copies of his poems/short stories and pass them out at school/church/community events. Now us nerds stay up, program crazy grames, share with friends across the globe via our communites (forums, boards, chans) and let the magic happen. Crazy to think about.
